Meridian Athlete Going To Concordia

Meridian senior Kimberly Schropfer signed a letter of intent to compete for Concordia Nebraska Bulldogs Track and Field.The reason behind signing with Concordia didn’t take Schropfer long to come up with that decision.“Honestly, well I had always been interested with it at a young age, but when I took a visit there it just felt like home. The campus, coaches and everyone I had met made it feel comfortable.”For some of the factors that helped with this decision, one came from the time of Schropfer trying to improve her abilities at a training opportunity.“Well actually, one of his high jump camps gave me a chance to talk to another high jumper who was super nice, fun and I had played against in her in basketball, so being able to have that connection really helped.”Head coach of Concordia Bulldogs Track and Field Matt Beisel was able to give his thoughts on signing Schropfer to Concordia saying, “Kimberly came to our camps and really caught the attention of our high jump coach, Benjamin Hinckfoot. After working with her, he came to me and said, ‘We want that one. She’s smart and has big potential. And we clicked!’She is jumping very well for the environment she’s in, and we expect her to be a potential All-GPAC high jumper her freshman year, with a big upside. She is explosive, kinesthetic, intelligent, and coachable. She has a big heart and is fun to work with. All of these things are pieces of the puzzle.Everyone gets better in our program, no matter what level of coaching they’ve had. The depth of their training group – women who are passionate about track, driven to be the best they can be – but who also love each other and love being together… combined with fantastic coaching and strength training, these are the pieces that will help her be the best she can be.”
