Meridian, Titans Tops At Del Wicks Invite

On Thursday, April 14, the Meridian Mustang girls track were at the Del Wicks Invitational placing third with 89 points and boys finishing second with 74 points.Top finishes came by these Mustangs with Kaylee Pribyl collecting four golds as she placed first in the pole vault reaching 10’00’’, long jump reaching the distance 16-03 ½, clocked in the time :13.70 in the 100m dash and anchored the 4×100m relay with Taelyn Filipi, Saege Barnell, and Tyleiah Gooding to run :54.20.Kimberly Schropfer took first in the high jump leaping the height of 4’8’’and Taelyn Filipi tied for second.Schropfer also started the 4×800 relay along with Emma Slopsema, Alice Giussani, and Evelyn Woitalewicz finishing second. Kailyn Paul placed second in the triple jump and McKenzie Hofstetter placed second in the 400m dash. Many of the points for the Mustang boyss came from the running portion of the meet with Bradyen Rutt taking first in the 300m hurdles running :45.50, the 400m dash with :56.72, and earned second in the 110m hurdles. Jesus Nunez, Dylan Griggs, Mario Escobar, and Brayden Rut for the 4×100m relay placed first running :49.25.Thayer Central Titans competed at the Redmen Relays and Thayer Central girls track top placing efforts came from Madelynn Wells who took first in both the 100m and 300m hurdles as she ran :17.72 in 100m hurdles and :50.93 in the 300m hurdles. Thayer Central boys track team placed second.A nice outing in the field events for Grant Wiedel placing first in the long jump reaching a distance of 20-11 ¼. Lachlan Pickering placed second in the 1600m run running 5:13.28.At the Del Wicks Invite, Thayer boys and girls won team titles.
