More Staff Changes at FPS

By Gordon Hopkins

Fairbury Public Schools Board of Education met Thursday evening, June 19, to approve several changes to staff for the 2025-2026 school year.
New hires approved by the board are Regenia Putman as school nurse and Candi Kadar as Secondary Counselor.
In addition, FPS Special Education (SPED) teacher Anne Chappel has been selected as the new director of SPED. Chappel replaces Aimee Daily, who resigned from that position earlier this year.

This follows a number of other recent staffing changes, including:
Dave Schwarzenbach as Jr/Sr High School Principal,
Jerry Smith as interim Assistant Principal/Athletic Director,
Payton Stadler as Jr/Sr High School head volleyball coach,
Erik Ausk as a science teacher,
Michael Hall as secondary English teacher,
Mary LeFave as science teacher.

Like schools across the country, FPS has struggled with staffing shortages and the school has had an unusually high turnover rate this year. FPS Superintendent Dr. Devon Embray noted that the new school year will begin with 40 percent new staff.
