Mustangs Dominate Tom White Invite

The Meridian Mustangs track team continues with their stellar season as the girls won first place in yet another meet, this time at the Tom White Invitational in McCool Junction on April 25 with 119.5 points, and the boys track team placing seventh scoring 38 points.Dominating once again, the Mustang girls had stellar performances across the board. Showing great team racing as the 4×100m relay, with Tyleiah Gooding, Saege Barnell, Braxtyn Rut, and Kaylee Pribyl ran a time :55.59 and the 4×800m relay with Kim Schropfer, Emma Slopsema, Alice Giussani, and Evelyn Woitalewicz ran 11:38.81 which was good for first place. The 4×400m with Kim Schropfer, Ally Kort, Alice Giussani, and McKenzie Hosftetter placed fourth.Kaylee Pribyl came away with first in the pole vault again reaching the height 10’00’’, and in long jump reached a distance of 15-10 ½ taking first in that event as well, while dashing to second in the 100m dash with a time :13.34 setting a new PR. Kailyn Paul took first in the triple jump leaping and bounding to a distance of 32 feet even as well.Ally Kort not only being in the 4×400, placed second in the 100m hurdles, sixth in the pole vault by tie, and third in the triple jump. Kim Schropfer was able to place second in the high jump, and fourth in the 800m run, not far behind Evelyn Woitalewicz who finished third in the 800m run. Taelyn Filipi placed fourth in the high jump, Jaylee Sobotka placed fourth in the discus, Sage Barnell sixth in 200m dash, and Emma Slopsema was able to get fifth in the 3200m run, and sixth in the 1600m run.For Meridian boys track team the top performances came from Kolton Kumpf placing second in the discus setting a new PR with a throw of 119-07 ¼. Brayden Rut was able to finish in the top three in both hurdle events as he finished third in the 300m hurdles, and second in the 110m hurdles with a new PR time :16.92. Dylan Griggs managed to place sixth in the 800m run, third in the 1600m run and was joined by Jackson Huls who placed fourth in that event as well. Mariso Escobar was able to place sixth in the 200m run and helped Jesus Nunez, Dylan Griggs and Brayden Rut in the 4×100m relay place 4th running a time of :49.61.
