Thunderstorms, some bringing hail and considerable lightning, hit much of southeast Nebraska and northeast Kansas Sunday night, May 7. Wind gusts ranged between 70 and 80 miles per hour, according to Jefferson and Saline County Emergency Management. Power was reported out in some parts of Fairbury.
