Nonprofits Participating in 2022 Big Give Gage

Four Southern Gage County Nonprofit organizations are participating in the 2022 Big Give Gage online donation drive this year on September 8.One of the themes for 2022 is to “Give where you live,” or for some, formerly lived. According to their website, “Big Give Gage is a 24-hour time of giving where Gage County area supporters are invited to give back to their favorite local charities and stretch your giving even further…The overall goal of Big Give Gage is to promote philanthropy throughout the entire community, and highlight the important causes that area nonprofits address every single day. Big Give Gage is intended to be a bonus fundraising opportunity for local nonprofits. Each nonprofit will set their own individual fundraising goal for the day, and Big Give Gage will act as a portal for donors to help area organizations reach those financial goals.”Gage County Foundation and Beatrice Community Hospital Foundation jointly organize and sponsor the event. Gage County Foundation covers the 2.2 percent online processing fees, allowing each of the 60 participating Gage County nonprofits to receive all of the funds intended for them.In addition, local business sponsors donate to a fund that will match donations to respective nonprofits on a prorated percentage basis which yields a very nice increase. Although the Big Day is September 8, the secure Big Give Gage website will begin accepting donations as early as September 1, 2022, and continue accepting online gifts until 11:59 p.m. on September 8, 2022. However, updated donation amounts will not appear on the website until the Big Give Day. More than $760,000 has been raised through Big Give Gage in the first three years of the program.Instructions for donating by paper check: Those who prefer to donate by check, must make their check payable to either “Gage County Foundation” or “Big Give Gage” and also make a note in the memo line of the Nonprofit that you want to benefit from your generosity. Please understand that mailed donations must be mailed As Soon As Possible and sufficiently early to be received prior to September 8 or the donation will not be considered for Big Give Gage donation drive incentives.
