Numerous Jeffs Receive Post-Season Football Honors

Class C1-5 All-District TeamFairbury Coming away with C1-5 All-District first team selection was senior Noah Hyson. He had a career high on the defensive side with 52 total tackles, 27 solo and 25 assisted tackles along with five tackles being for a loss. Hyson also had one fumble recovery and one caused fumble proving to be a force on both sides of the ball during his senior season. Also getting All-District first team was at linebacker was senior Riley Arner. Arner led the team averaging 8.6 tackles per game. By season’s end he finished with 69 tackles in total, five tackles being for a loss, 34 solo tackles and 35 assisted, and with one fumble recovery. Jamison Runge, a sophomore, was Class C1-5 All-District first team at linebacker. Runge, had a total of 63 tackles, five were for a loss, 38 being solo and 25 were assisted. Averaging seven tackles per game put him at second for the team, he had one sack, one interception, two pass deflections and two fumble recoveries to lead the team. Receiving a Class C1-5 honorable mention was senior Aldo Ramos as an offensive and defensive lineman. Ramos had a career high of 16 tackles in total, six for a loss, eight solo and eight assisted, one sack, and one fumble recovery. Coming away with Class C1-5 honorable mention was junior Korey Nippert as a running back and safety. Nippert finished the season with a career high 21 carries for 82 yards, averaging 3.9 yards per carry, and had one rushing touchdown. He came down with 14 receptions, good for 131 yards and averaged 9.4 yards per catch. For Nippert defensively, a career high total of 47 tackles, 32 being solo and 15 assisted tackles. Korey had one interception and one fumble recovery. Class C1-5 All-District honorable mention at running-back was junior Dalton VanLaningham. With an average of 3.3 yards per carry, with 75 carries going for 244 yards and one rushing touchdown. VanLaningham contributed eight receptions for 39 yards and averaged five yards per catch. Class C1-5 All-District honorable mention was sophomore Nic Smith at receiver and defensive-back. Finishing the season with a 16 receptions, for 70 yards and one receiving touchdown. Defensively Smith would have 18 tackles, eight assisted and 10 solo, one fumble recovery and one caused fumble. Sophomore Konrad Kuzelka, Class C1-5 honorable mention for offensive and defensive lineman. Kuzelka was able to finish the season with 60 tackles, nine tackles being for a loss, 25 were solo tackles and 35 assisted tackles as he averaged 6.7 tackles per game. Along with one sack and one fumble recovery,. Sophomore Rene Monterroso getting Class C1-5 honorable mention for offensive and defensive lineman. Monterroso was able to grab 39 tackles, 19 being solo tackles and 20 assisted, eight tackles were for a loss, and one caused fumble.*More conference, district selections for area squads next week.
