Oil Spill In Rural Kansas

By Gordon HopkinsThe leak from the Keystone Pipeline System that dumped an estimated 14,000 barrels, or 588,000 gallons, of crude oil into Mill Creek and the surrounding area near Washington, Kansas, is the largest in Keystone’s history, according to federal data. The United States Government Accountability Office issued a report in 2021 that states there have been 22 spills form the Keystone System since 2010. The total of oil spilled from all those prior spills combined is less than 12,000 barrels.Initial Reports
