Raiders Pick Up Huge Win

The Southern Raiders ran wild on the way to victory against Humbolt-Table Rock-Steinauer with a final score 60-14 on Friday, August 30. The Raiders were able to have a great first half as they scored a total of 38. A strong night as they rack up 446 total yards, with 102 passing and 344 rushing.Along with that offensive effort, Southern’s defense was just as strong as they were able to come away with two interceptions and held their opponents to ten rushing yards.Southern will look for more of the same success as they take on to the road against Johnson County Central on Friday, September 6. Trojans Edge JCCThe strong first half from Tri County gives them the edge for the rest of the game to win 34-22 against Johnson County Central on Friday, August 30. In the first half Tri County was able to score 26 points, 12 in the first quarter and 14 in the second. A final touchdown in the third quarter would be all that the Trojans needed into finishing with 340 total yards, 32 passing and 308 on the ground.For the defensive effort, Cooper Stokebrand led the team with eight and half tackles, two tackles being for a loss with two sacks. Owen Lewandowski was able to record three and half tackles while grabbing one interception, and Keyton Reck was able to record seven tackles and have a fumble recovery. Tri County will gear up for straight weeks on the road as they face Freeman on Friday, September 6. Boys Town Blanks W-CThe Wilber-Clatonia Wolverines run into offensive struggles as they’re shut out 0-50 against Boys Town High on Friday, August 30.A positive note for the Wolverines was collecting 111 passing yards in the air with Cash Keslar accounting for 92 of them as he completed 11 of 17 attempts with one interception. Aidan Zajicek was able to lead the team with five receptions and 42 yards receiving.W-C will be looking to bounce back as they hit the road to face Lincoln Christian on Friday, September 6. Jeffs Superior To SuperiorThe Fairbury Jeffs second half push gets them the victory on the road against Superior with a final score 14-0. Fairbury will look to carry this momentum into hosting Fillmore Central on Friday, September 6.Griffins Begin Six Man Era With WinThe Diller-Odell Griffins able to start the season off strong with a shutout victory on the road against Harvard with the final score reaching 37-0 on Friday, August 30.A solid start to their inaugural season of 6-man action, D-O scored 18 in the first quarter, six in the second and 13 in the third quarter to run away with the victory.D-O will look to have the same success as they host Meridian on Friday, September 6.Meridian Stumbles Against Pawnee CityThe Meridian Mustangs can’t contain Pawnee City as they lose with a final score 6-57. The lone touchdown came from JD Adam scoring on a one yard touchdown run.Meridian will look to bounce back on the road as they’ll face Diller-Odell on Friday, September 6. Titans DominateThe Thayer Central Titans able to score big on the ground at home as they run away with a 66-6 victory against Heartland on Friday, August 31. Leading the Titans on the ground was Sam Souerdyke as he would have eight carries go for 124 yards with a 15.5 average as he scored three rushing touchdowns.Laken Wiedel was able to have a total of three touchdowns as he would throw one passing touchdown completing three of five attempts for an even 100 yards with seven carries getting 57 yards and two rushing touchdowns.Blake Gunn would lead the team with 14 carries as he racked up 50 yards and scored one rushing touchdown along with Skylar Fisher making the most of his 15 carries as he would have 15 yards with one rushing touchdown. Brady Degenhard was able to have two receptions with one of them being a receiving touchdown as the lone score coming from the air.On the defensive end Degenhardt came up with four tackles and had one interception. Sam Souerdyke led the team with total tackles with seven while three of those tackles were for a loss and Carson Mclaughlin was able to have a total of six tackles and one pass deflection.Thayer Central will try to find the same success at home again as they host Centennial on Friday, September 6.
