Richard Mick

Richard Lee "Frog" Mick, also known as Dick, 76, of Wymore, Nebraska passed away on December 13, 2023. Born in Wymore, on October 7, 1947, Dick was a lifelong resident who enjoyed his community. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend, known for his love of family, hunting, fishing, and playing Keno and cards. Dick’s career as a heavy equipment operator in road construction led him to operate machinery for Behrend's Construction, Constructors, and Seitz Quarry from which he retired. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wymore. He often spent his free time watching Andy Griffith, RFDTV, Westerns and Larry's Country Diner, and enjoyed trips to the casino. Dick’s devotion to his family was evident in his joy in spending time with his grandchildren. Dick is survived by his children Jennifer Mick, Ashley Mick-LaPointe, and Derek (Kelsey) Mick; grandchildren Dylan and Emily LaPointe, and Harrison and Theo Mick; brother Bill Mick; sister Norma Crosier; brothers-in-law Richard (Sandy) Rock and Rodney (Connie) Rock; his beloved dog, Buster; several nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Mick, whom he married on April 11, 1970; his parents, Charley and Mary Mick; brother, Charles Mick; sisters, Mary Lou and Gloria Mick; and 3 other infant siblings. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, December 21st at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wymore with Father Loras Grell officiating. Burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery. A family prayer service will begin at 10:15 AM. The body will lie in state at the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home in Wymore on Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM with the family greeting relatives and friends from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. A Rosary service will then be held at the church at 7:30 PM on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wymore EMS or Cottonwood Hospice Charitable Foundation with the funeral home in charge.
