On July 12, 2022, Gage County Deputies executed a search warrant at a residence in Blue Springs. The purpose of the search warrant was to look for evidence related to a Sex Offender Registry Violation allegedly being committed by Dusty Mayhew, age 54.
According to the investigator that filled out the arrest affidavit, “Upon entry into the residence. Randall Cameron was located in the living room of the residence. I patted down Cameron for safety purposes and felt what I believed was a pipe in his pocket. I asked Cameron what was in his pocket and he said ‘a pipe.’ Cameron consented to me reaching into his pockets to retrieve the pipe. I then retrieved a glass meth pipe from his front right pant pocket. Residue in the pipe tested positive for methamphetamine. Cameron was placed under arrest and lodged in the Gage County Detention Center.”
Another hearing is set for November 10. Cameron remains free on a $3,000 (10 percent) bond.
Mayhew, was also located in the residence along with several of his personal items. Mayhew’s vehicle was located at the residence along with another vehicle that Mayhew recently bought. The investigation determined that Mayhew has been staying at the residence off and on since June and has regularly been at the residence for the last week. Mayhew was arrested at the scene for Violation of the Sex Offender Registry, a class 3A felony, due to Mayhew having previous convictions for previously violating the sex offender registry requirements. Mayhew was convicted on April 2, 2008, in Gage County, of attempted second degree sexual assault.
