Several Family Activities Planned for Steele City 150thThe Steele City 150th Celebration will include many family activities for all ages and will be held September 16th and 17th. Sunday activities will include the Kids Corner from 11:00 to 3:00, in the downtown City Park. All activities are free and will include a Rock climbing wall, bounce houses, an obstacle course, a toddlers playground, inflatable slides, face painting, and other activities. A caricature artist will be there from 11:00 to 2:00, drawing mug shots. A community parade will be held at 3:15, starting at the old School.Celebrate 150 activities also include a car show, bake sale, silent auction, a 150 program at the Town Hall and a concert in the evening.The Celebration is in conjunction with the yearly event of the Jefferson County Historical Society called Tractors and Treasures. Those events include a garden Tractor Pull, Antique Pull, Tractor Show, Tractor Drive, and a flea market. The Historical Museum buildings will be open, and there will be old time demonstrations and a old fashion church service in the Baptist Church. This is the 53rd Year for the Tractors and Treasures event, which is free to the public.A Commemorative Program is now available in many of the area businesses.
