Jeffs In Offensive Battle With FCEMFThe Fairbury Lady Jeffs give a great effort but can’t keep pace with the hot bats as they lose 13-21 in an offensive battle with F.C.E.M.F on Tuesday, August 27. A total of five hits to bring in a total of 10 RBI. Mailee Garner, Logan Wentz, Izzy Ohlde, Rylee Gill, and Molly Hansmire each contributed one hit. Hansmire led the team with four RBI, Gill had three RBI, Ohdle had a pair of RBI and Wentz would have one RBI.Ianna Lucking, Regan Kapke, Izzy Ohlde and Mailee Garner each had one steal as well. On the mound Sam Schmidt took the loss going four innings surrendering nine hits, 12 runs(five earned), striking out three and walking three.Fairbury would hit the road on Saturday, August 31 to close out the month at the Seward Invite. Despite a rough start of going 0-2, Fairbury would win the last game of the day against Centennial with the final score reaching 9-6. In that game Regan Kapke and Jordin Gill were able to record multiple hits as each would go two for three at the plate. Jordin Gill and Izzy Ohlde would lead the team with two RBI. Ohlde, Mailee Garner, Lauren Wanamaker and Addison Marschman were each able to have one hit and bring in one RBI.On the mound getting the win was Izzy Ohlde going two innings allowing one hit, five runs (three earned) with three walks and four strikeouts. Kate Hynek would come in relief for two innings as well surrendering two hits, one run (one earned) with one walk and one strikeout.Fairbury hit the road against Crete on Tuesday, September 3 and then will be back home hosting the Fairbury Invite on Saturday, September 7. W-C Clashes With AuburnThe Wilber-Clatonia Lady Wolverines unable to get the offense going as they would be shutout in the first game of the season on the road as they faced Auburn on Tuesday, August 27.A pair of hits for W-C was mustered up by Gianna Ellis-Erickson and Sam Novak with each of those hits being a double. On the mound taking the loss was Kariss Rosenthal over three innings as she would allow five hits and six runs while walking three and striking out three.W-C will be looking to regroup by hosting Auburn on Thursday, September 5. Fillmore Central Hosts ThunderThe Southern-Diller-Odell Thunder unable to get the offense on track as they go 0-3 at the Fillmore Central invite on Saturday, August 31. The first game against Twin Rivers would go to a final score of 6-21, against F.C.E.M.F S.D.O ran into same troubles with a final score reaching 2-15 and in their final game would lose 3-7 against Raymond Central.The S.D.O thunder will look to bounce back on the road as they face F.C.E.M.F on Thursday, September 5.
