Solar Winds Bring Northern Lights South to Nebraska

Aurora borealis, or Northern Lights, occur when charged particles from solar winds strike the Earth's atmosphere. Northern Lights are rarely visible as far south as Nebraska but a geomagnetic storm created a light show of vivid greens and pinks and purples Thursday night.
