Summer Race Season Starts

The Jefferson County Speedway hosted it’s first race of the season on Saturday, June 8. Due to weather during the month of May the races were unable to go on the intended start date. Fortunately the weather held up and the season has now officially under way. Starting the season on a high note was Kyler Bearce of Hinton, IA. Coming from the position of fifth place and battled to take first in the Restricted Micros Class A Feature 1. Followed behind him from Manhattan, KS., was Gavyn Bolt coming from the fourth place position to second place. Rounding out the top three of that class was Taver West coming from Whiting, IA., as he jumped from sixth to third with his effort.For the A-Class Micros it was Trey Zorn of Russel KS., being able to maintain and take first place. With Alec Frisell from Holdrege NE., taking second place and Cale Lagroon of Salina, KS., was able to move on from fourth place into third place. This time in the Non-Wing Micros, Trey Zorn was able to take first place in that class as well. Followed by Caleb Woodard of Bennington, NE., taking the jump from third to second place while Garrett Hake of Concordia, KS., was able to jump from fourth place to third.The Sportsman Micros would close out the night as Laike Imm of Phillipsburg, KS., was able to move from second place to first. Josh Voorhees of Beatrice, NE., made a jump of three positions as he started from fifth and ended at second place. Blake Mikesell was able to make the biggest jump from the racing this weekend as he moved up five spots from the eighth spot to a third place finish.The next race at the Jefferson County Speedway will be on Saturday, June 22.
