Swearing in City Governments

By Gordon Hopkins
City officials in Fairbury and Wymore were sworn in this week at their respective city council meetings.
Fairbury
The City of Fairbury saw new faces taking the oath of office along with the incumbents.
On Tuesday, December 3, 2024, swearing in ceremonies for the City of Fairbury began with the newly elected mayor, Kelly Davis, who had previously served as city council president.
This was followed by swearing in of city council: newly elected members Charles Endforf, Ward 1, and Jaime McDaniel, Ward 4, along with returning councilpersons Bradley Kuzelka, Ward 2, and John Ebke, Ward 4. Kuzelka was elected as new city council president.
With Davis the new mayor and city councilperson Doug Brown leaving after 20 years on the council, two new members were needed to replace them on the city’s Water Sourcing Committee, which is looking for a new, lower nitrate source of drinking water for the city. Council members Dusty Schmidt and Charles Endorf were assigned to the committee.
The city council also appointed Daniel Lovgren and Matthew Kapke to the city’s Planning and Zoning Committee.
Wymore
In Wymore, incumbents Max Allen, Ward 1, and Sue Sapp, Ward 2, retained their seats on the board during the recent election and were sworn in at a meeting the evening of Wednesday, December 4, 2024.
