Jeffs Win At Raymond CentralThe Fairbury Lady Jeffs closed out the season on a high note as they took first with a (.5) difference at the Raymond Central Invite on May 4.Mikya Lierman broke her own previous school record and took first in the pole vault reaching the height of 11’. Lily Davis was second.Davis would also take third in the 3200 meter run, while the 4x800 meter relay finished first as the team of Micah Friesen, Davis, Hannah Robertson and Sam Starr clocked in the time of 10:45.06 and the 4x400 meter relay with Friesen, Davis, Robertson and Sam Starr were second.Starr would take first in the 800 meter run and Emily Huss took second in both the 100 meter and 300 meter hurdles.For the boys team, the Jeffs scored a total of 35.5 points with Devon Carel taking first in the 400 meter dash, finishing with the time of :52.32, and placed third in the 200 meter dash. Jax Biehl set two new PR feats as Biehl jumped to second in the high jump (5’10’’) and placed fifth in the triple jump setting a new PR distance (39’7.75”). Dalton VanLaningham was third in the pole vault. Meridian Finishes ThirdThe Meridian Mustangs boys and girls were at the Russ Snyder Invite to close out their season and the Lady Mustangs took third and the Mustangs scored 23 points.For the Lady Mustangs the top efforts came from Kaylee Pribyl taking first in the long jump(16’4.75”), first in pole vault (11’6’’) along with McKenzie Hofstetter taking second in the pole vault.Hofstetter would also place second in the triple jump, the 400 meter dash. The 4x800 relay team of Hofstetter, Taelyn Filipi, Maria Dimas and Evelyn Woitalewicz finished second with the time of 10:54.36. Kailyn Paul was able to place second in the high jump, and Tyleiah Gooding was able to place second in the 100 meter hurdles.For the Meridian Mustangs, Dylan Peterson set a new PR in the 800 meter run placing him at third (2:12.56). Coby Huls placed among the top five with PR runs in two events taking third with a PR time of 11:25.82 in the 3200 meter run and placed fifth in the 1600 meter run setting a PR time of 5:25.69. Kolton Kumpf was able to join in the PR day as he placed in the top five of the shot put throwing a PR distance of 43’4.5”. Titans Place In Top FiveThayer Central had a good outing at the Fillmore Central Invite on May 4 with the Titans placing fifth, scoring 70 points, and the Lady Titans were fourth (83 points).Piper Havel finished strong with her season taking second in the 100 meter dash, the 200 meter dash, third in the long jump, and was a part of the 4x100 meter relay with Isebella Escritt, Natalie Tietjen, and Jadyn Bowman taking second as they ran the time of :53.22.Meigha Schmidt was second in the high jump, Josey Welch seized second in the 100 meter hurdles, and Taivry Virus set a PR time in the 3200 meter run (16:12.95) for second place.For the Titans, Grant Wiedel was first in the long jump (19’9.5”), Bradley Neff was first in the pole vault (12’), while Cole Vorderstrasse set a PR throw into second place for the discus with the distance 142’5”, and placed fifth in the shot put.Jordan Mariska took third in the 110 meter hurdles and Brady Degenhardt grabbed third in the 300 meter hurdles. Adam Lukert was third in the 3200 meter run, and third in the 1600 meters setting a new PR time (5:04.41). Griffins At Freeman InviteThe Diller-Odell Griffins ended their season a the Freeman Invite on May 2 as the Griffins scored 14 points and the Lady Griffins scored 29 points.Top efforts for the boys came by Tristan Rosebaugh setting a PR time in the 400 meter dash (:54.30) finishing fourth. Callan McKinney placed third in the triple jump and fourth in the long jump.For the girls Aidan McKinney placed second in the triple jump, and second in the high jump while Gabby Long placed sixth in the 1600 meter run setting a PR time (6:29.58).Trojans Second, ThirdTri County had a strong ending to the season as the Trojans score 86.5 points taking second the Lady Trojans score 73 points claiming third at Freeman.Top efforts came by the 4x800 meter relay taking first (8:35.24) and the 4x400 meter relay managed second. Carter Siems was able to take first in the 400 meter dash, and the 1600 meter run. Drew Siems was able to set a new PR in the 3200 meter run (10:33.81).Ben Holsing placed third in the 300 meter hurdles. Colton Bales was able to set a new PR in the pole vault and was second (11’6’).For the Lady Trojans placing third was made possible of the combined efforts from Kennadee VanWinkle taking first in the pole vault (9’) and was joined by Meila Gornemeyer taking third. Catrina Washburn was able to capture third in the long jump and triple jump.The 4x400 meter relay was able to take first (4:20.31). Ella Clark was able to set a PR time in taking first in the 400 meter dash (1:02.13). Isabella Peters took first in the 800 meter run and set a PR time (2:29.24). Placing in the top five of the 200 meter dash with a new PR good for fourth was Ashton Schwisow (:28.44). Raiders At JCCThe Southern Raiders boys track team closed out the year at the Johnson County Central Invite on May 5.Top efforts came by Kale Maguire taking first in the 1600 meters (4:51.10), and first in the 800 meters (2:07.10). WC Finish SecondThe Wilber-Clatonia Wolverines finished their season looking primed and ready for districts as they scored 95 points, taking second at the Johnson County Central Invite, and the Lady Wolverines scored 37 points giving them sixth.Ashton Pulliam won first in pole vault with a season best height of 13’7’’. Zander Baker taking second. Carter Skleba finished first in the triple jump (40’8”) and took second in the long jump. Tyson Kreshel launched a PR throw in the discus (151’8.5”), and took first in the shot put (49’4”).Jorge Vazquez set a PR in the shot put taking second (48’9.5”).The running for Wilber-Clatonia was represented well by Gavin Vlcan burning the jet fuels for the last meet of the regular season taking second in the 400 meter dash running a new PR time of :52.20, grabbed second in the 200 meter dash with a PR time of :23.35 and placed second in the 100 meter dash.For the Lady Wolverines the top placements came by Madison Vogel setting a PR height in the high jump with 4’11’’. Jera Schuerman came away with a season best throw in the discus with 111’9” good for second place, and Carly Rains placed in the top three of 100 meter hurdles with third running the time of :17.53.
