Two Fairbury Women Charged with Drug
Possession

Two Fairbury women, Kylie R. Lofts, age 32, and Cindy L. Lofts, were arraigned in Jefferson County Court on Wednesday, October 19, 2022. Linda Bauer was the presiding judge.
Both defendants are charged with possession of a controlled substance, A class 4 felony punishable by up to two years in prison, 12 months of post- release supervision and a $10,000 fine.
In addition, Cindy Lofts is also charged with possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, both infractions.
A search warrant was conducted at a residence in Fairbury on September 15, 2022. According to a Warrantless Arrest Affidavit, “Upon a search of the rooms in the basement, narcotics and drug paraphernalia were found.”
The affidavit indicates a glass pipe found field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Kylie Lofts was arrested at the scene.
Both Kylie and Cindy Lofts reside at the same residence. Both defendants requested court-appointed council.
Another hearing for each defendant is scheduled for November 16.
