The Diller-Odell Lady Griffins swept on the road winning 3-0 against Southern on Tuesday, September 3. The Lady Griffins were able to play a great game of defense as they held their opponents under 15 points for each of the three sets with the scores going 25-11, 25-7 and 25-13.On the offensive side, D-O was led by Myleigh Weers up front with 16 kills as the only one to reach double digits for her team. Also coming away with multiple hits was Baileigh Vilda and Aidan McKinney. Vilda came in second for the team with six kills and McKinney was able to have three.Making the biggest impact for Aidan came from serving as she led the team with a total of seven aces which was tied for a career high. Berkelee Beekman had another great game of passing as she would finish with 22 assists and was also able to have multiple aces with two aces. Meanwhile the group of Myleigh Weers, Mallory Schwab, Baileigh Vilda, Jaedyn Hajek and Carly Meyerle each contributed one ace for a team total of 14 aces.The D-O Lady Griffins roll onward to Freeman for an invite on Saturday, September 7. The Southern Lady Raiders were able to grab their first wins in sweeping fashion for the first time on the season with triangular competition at Parkview Christian on Thursday, September 5.Southern will look to host Weeping Water on Thursday, September 12 and then on Saturday, September 14 will compete at the H.T.R.S invite. The Meridian Lady Mustangs were able to push their win-streak to four games after sweeping up the competition at their home quadrangular on Tuesday, September 3. Meridian was able to sweep 2-0 against Red Cloud and Deshler.They’ll be hitting the road in the second week of September as they’ll face McCool Junction on Thursday, September 12 in triangular action. The Fairbury Lady Jeffs pushed their win-streak to three game in sweeping Auburn on the road on Thursday, September 5.The Lady Jeffs showed great consistent effort on the defensive end holding their opponents to less than 20 points for all three sets as the scores would go 25-15, and 25-17 for the last two sets.Fairbury will hit the road next week on Tuesday, September 10 as they’ll face Thayer Central and then on Thursday, September 12 will be at the Malcolm Invite. The Thayer Central Lady Titans fight to grab the 3-1 victory at home as they hosted Tri County on Thursday, September 5. The teams would trade the wins with the two sets as Thayer Central took the first one 25-14 and Tri County bounced back with a 17-25 win. Thayer Central would answer that by winning two straight with the scores going 25-21 and 25-16.Thayer Central will look carry this win into hosting Fairbury on Tuesday, September 10 and hit the road on Thursday, September 12 facing Heartland. The Tri County lady Trojans gave a good fight but lost 1-3 against Thayer Central on the road Thursday, September 5.The teams would trade the wins with the two sets as Thayer Central took the first one 25-14 and Tri County bounced back with a 17-25 win. However, Tri County wouldn’t find an answer for the next two sets by losing two straight with the scores going 21-25 and 16-25.Tri County will look to get back on track as they hit the road on Monday, September 9 facing Auburn. Then on Tuesday, September 10 will be at the Lewiston triangular and end next week on Thursday, September 12 facing against Fillmore Central. The Wilber-Clatonia Lady Wolverines were unable to grab a win on the road in triangular action at Sandy Creek as they lose their first game by sweep 0-2 to Sandy Creek and then fought to win one set, but would lose 1-2 against Heartland on Thursday, September 5.W-C will look to triangular competition on the road at Freeman on Tuesday, September 10.
