Warrant Issued for John Seefus

A warrant was issued for John Seefus, age 51, after he failed to appear for Jefferson County District Court as scheduled on Thursday. March 2, 2023. David, J,A, Bargen was the presiding judge.Seefus was one of five suspects arrested in a drug bust in Fairbury on December 16, 2022. At approximately 7:45 p.m., deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office conducted a Narcotics Search Warrant on a residence at the 1000 block of B Street in Fairbury. Upon entry, five adults and two minor children were located on the premises. According to the Sheriff's Office, multiple controlled substances and related items were found in the residence, including: methamphetamine, marijuana, THC wax, and “numerous paraphernalia items.”Seefus was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, a class 4 felony punishable by up to two years in prison and one year of post-release supervision.County Attorney Joseph Casson made a motion to for the court to issue an arrest warrant. Judge Bargen granted the motion.The defendant's bond was revoked and Casson recommended a new bond of $10,000, 10 percent.Bargen said, “Let's make it $20,000, 10 percent.”This is not Seefus' first run in with the law. On Thursday, June 3, 2001, he was sentenced to 14 months in prison for possession of a controlled substance by Jefferson County Judge Linda Bauer.
