Trojans Go 2-0The Tri County Trojans went 2-0 at the Fairbury Triangular on Thursday, December 12. The Trojans were able to bring the final score to 46-27 against Fillmore Central and would go 42-39 in a hard fought battle with Fairbury. Tri County would then move on to the Bob Oliver Invite on Saturday, December 14.Tri County would go on to be the invite champions with five champions crowned.Those top efforts came by Cooper Stokebrand, Cade Spahr, Silas Sedlacek, Keyton Reck and Riley Kopf. Going 4-0 on their efforts was Cade Spahr in the 113-pound division and Keyton Reck in the 150-pound division. Having their day finish 5-0 came by Riley Kopf in the 175-pound division, Silas Sedlacek in the 120-pound division and Cooper Stokebrand in the 215-pound division.The Tri County Trojans will be back on the road Thursday, December 19 in triangular competition at Lincoln High. Jeffs Beat Fillmore CentralThe Fairbury Jeffs went 1-1 as they won 51-27 against Fillmore Central, but lose 39-42 against Tri County at home in triangular competition on Thursday, December 12. Fairbury would then travel to the Crete invite on Saturday, December 14 coming away with some top placements.The top efforts from the Jeffs came from the duo of Dalton Vanlaningham and Konrad Kuzelka. Dalton was able to take first in the 138-pound division going 4-0 with one pin-fall, one tech-fall and one major decision. Konrad took first in the 165-pound division, each win coming by pin-fall. Gavin Gerths in the 126-pound division, and Hayden Bear in the 132-pound division each took fifth while Jerik Johnson in the 175-pound division took sixth.Fairbury will be in dual action on the road against Adams Central on Tuesday, December 17 and then on Saturday, December 21 will be at the Auburn Invite. W-C At CreteThe Wilber-Clatonia Wolverines competed at the Crete Invite on Saturday, December 14 coming with top placements.Staying undefeated on the season was the trio of Iverson Mejia in the 150-pound division, Logan Zimmerman in the 144-pound division, and Zaiyahn Ornelas in the 120-pound division as each would go 4-0 on the way to taking first. Ornelas was able to finish with one pin-fall, and one tech-fall.Zimmerman was able to win with two pin-falls and two decisions. Mejia was able to win with two pin-falls and two tech-falls.Wilber-Clatonia will look to the dual against Sandy Creek on Tuesday, December 17 and on Saturday, December 21 will be at the Kearney Catholic Dual Tournament on Saturday, December 21. Trio Of Raiders Tops At OsceolaThe Southern Raiders earn top results at the Osceola invite on Saturday, December 14. The Raiders had a trio of top efforts with Wyatt Forney in the 113-pound division taking first, Drake Troxel took first in the 150-pound division and Carsen Goes earned third in the 190-pound division. Forney would finish his day with four pin-falls and one decision, Troxel would have three wins by pin and one decision and Goes would have four pin-fall victories.Southern will look to triangular competition on Thursday, December 19 at home with Pawnee City and Lincoln Lutheran. Then travel to the JCC invite on Saturday, December 21. Girls:W-C At CreteThe Wilber-Clatonia Lady Wolverines competed at the Crete Invite on Saturday, December 14. Coming away with a top placement was Faith Klabenes taking third in the 190-pound division going 3-1 on the day with two pin-fall victories and one decision. Jeffs Face Tough Competition At TriangularThe Fairbury Lady Jeffs went 0-2 at their home triangular as they would lose 30-45 to Blue River and then 30-41 to Fillmore Central on Thursday, December 12. Fairbury would move on to the Crete Invite on Saturday, December 14 with some top finishes.The trio Regan Kapke, Zoey Frerichs, and Addison Marschman would lead the top efforts. Zoey Frerichs went 2-1 in the 140-pound division taking second, Addison Marschman would go 2-1 in the 235-pound division taking second and Regan Kapke would go 3-1 finishing second in the 110-pound division. Mustangs Win Bob Oliver InviteThe Meridian Lady Mustangs take top prize scoring 105 points to win the Bob Oliver Invite on Saturday, December 14.The Lady Mustangs were led by McKenzie Hofstetter taking first in the 130-pound division, and Jetta Stewart taking first in the 145-pound division. Rebecca Vinsonhaler took second in the 235-pound division, while Alyssa Naiman in the 125-pound division, Braxtyn Rut in the 140-pound division and Hailee Buresh in the 155-pound division were able to place third.Meridian will travel to Gibbon on Thursday, December 19 and then on Saturday, December 21 will compete at the JCC Invite.
