Boys:Jeffs Win At AuburnThe Fairbury Jeffs took top prize at the Auburn invite on Saturday, December 21.The Jeffs were able to have 11 medalists from the invite and score a team total of 160.5 points to capture first place. At least four Jeffs were able to come away with the top placement in their respective division.Those efforts came by Dalton VanLaningham taking first in the 138-pound division going 4-0 with two wins by pin and one tech-fall. Freddy Leon in the 150-pound division took first with each win coming by way of pin to go 4-0. Konrad Kuzelka in the 165-pound division was able to go 4-0 as well and was able to have three pin-fall wins, taking first place. Layne Fees in the 285-pound division would take first place going 3-0 with two pin-fall wins and one decision.Coming away with top placements was Garrett Roelfs at 285-pounds, taking second place. Christian Suchil (190-pounds), Hayden Bear (132-pounds) and Gavin Gerths (126-pounds) were each able to place third. Brazen Corbin (113-pounds), Jayden James in the 144-pound class and Peyton Arner (215-pounds) each took fourth place.Fairbury returns to the mat at the Badger Duals on Saturday, January 4. Titans SecondThe Thayer Central Titans would take second place at the Auburn Invite on December 21 with a team total score 146.5 points.The Titans had a handful of top placements. Cole Vorderstrasse was first in the 215-pound division going 3-0 with two pin-fall victories and one major decision. Colter Sinn was first in the 120-pound division going 4-0 with a tech-fall and two pin-falls. Owen McLaughlin (132-pounds) went 3-0 with two-pin falls and one major decision.Taking third in each of their divisions was Jaxson Bowers (113-pounds), Jaxon Krupicka (144-pounds), Carson McLaughlin (157-pounds) and Brighton Hergott (285-pounds).Thayer Central will return to the mat on Saturday, January 11 at the Franklin Invite. Wolverines Travel To KearneyThe Wilber-Clatonia Wolverines finished fourth at the Kearney Catholic Dual Tournament December 21. W-C would then move on to the Neuman Grove on December 28 to close out the year. Raiders FourthThe Southern Raiders took fourth place at the JCC Invite on December 21. Wyatt Forney (113-pounds) took first place going 5-0, and Drake Troxel also went 5-0 as he would take first place (150-pounds). Koltan Ideus (157-pounds) and Noah Troxel (138-pounds) each took second place. While Carsen Goes (190-pounds) was able to take third place. Six Medal For T.C.The Tri County Trojans competed at the Logan View invite on December 21. The Trojans were able to place ninth out of 17 teams with six medalists on the day. The top efforts came by Cole Spahr taking second place (138-pounds) and Cooper Stokebrand coming away with third place (215-pounds).Tri County will return to the mats hosting the Tri County Duals on January 10-11. Meridian At JCCThe Meridian Mustangs competed at the JCC Invite on December 21 coming away with seventh place out of 15 schools. Top efforts from the Mustangs came by Kyan Sones taking first place in the 285-pound division with four pin-fall victories. JD Adam took first place (175-pounds) with four pin-fall wins, and one major decision going 5-0. Carter Haverluck would also go 5-0 with five pins as he would take first in the 126-pound division.Meridian will be back on the mat at the Fillmore Central Invite on January 4. Girls:Jeffs Second At AuburnThe Fairbury Lady Jeffs able to finish with second place at the Auburn invite scoring 120 points and having some medalists from that effort. Coming away with top placements was Addison Marschman (235-pounds), Abigail Hynek (170-pounds), Danika Corbin (125-pounds) and Atziri Cuevas (105-pounds) were each able to take first place. Regan Kapke (110-pounds), Olivia Hackler (120-pounds), Rylee Gill (135-pounds) and Zoey Frerichs (140-pounds) each took second place.Fairbury will return to the mat on Friday at the Winnebago Invite. Raiders At JCCThe Southern Lady Raiders competed at the JCC Invite on December 21. Top efforts by the Lady Raiders came by Mya Frase taking second place (155-pounds). While Andriana Renderos (140-pounds) and Pearl Short (130-pounds) would each place third.Southern will return the mat next year and will be competing at the Malcolm Invite on January 10. Six Place At JCCThe Meridian Lady Mustangs were able to place sixth among 11 teams at the JCC invite on Saturday, December 21.Coming away with placements came by Jetta Stewart in the 140-pound division taking first place with each win coming by pin as she went 3-0. Braxtyn Rut (135-pounds)and Hailee Buresh (155-pounds) would each take third place. Rebecca Vinsonhaler in the 235-pound division, Alyssa Naiman in the 120-pound division and McKenzie Hofstetter (130-pounds) were each able to place fourth.Meridian will return to the mat on Friday, January 10 as they hit the road for the Beatrice Invite.
