Wymore Couple Arrested

Deputies served an arrest warrant for a Wymore man and arrested his wife as well on suspicion of drug possession. On December 26, 2024, at approximately 7:10 p.m., Gage County Sheriff’s deputies went to a residence in Wymore, to arrest Sayge R. Peters, who had a felony warrant for his arrest from Jefferson County.Peters was contacted in his bedroom along with his wife Tara Peters. After being placed into custody Sayge and Tara S. Peters were questioned about an unrelated investigation.The sheriff's office reported that, “During the course of this, items relating to the use of methamphetamine were observed in plain view around the bedroom.” According to deputies, a further search of the bedroom led to the discovery of a total of 11 individual baggies of suspected methamphetamine, weighing around 16 grams, along with 32 new and clean small plastic zip-lock baggies and numerous new and used syringes and meth pipes.Deputies also reported locating numerous pills that were identified as Alprazolam or Buprenorphine Hydrochloride, both which are controlled substances, and a straight blade knife with a 6 ¼ inch blade. Both Sayge Peters and Tara Peters were arrested for possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver along with three counts of possession of a controlled substance. Sayge Peters is a convicted felon and he was also arrested for possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person.Tara Peters was scheduled to appear in Jefferson County District Court for another matter the morning of Thursday, January 2, 2025. She did not appear as she was in custody in Kansas. Prior CasesThis is not the first time Sayge and Tara Peters have been arrested. On April 26, 2024, at approximately 6:55 a.m., the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a residence in Fairbury. Multiple individuals were found within the residence.According to the arrest affidavit, “A small yellow silicone (sic) container with a wax-like substance was discovered in the kitchen, which was converted into a bedroom by Sayge and Tara Peters. The wax substance emitted an odor consistent with marijuana, which I recognized from my training and experience. Suitcases located in the kitchen were found to contain drug paraphernalia and used bags with a white crystalline substance. A red Fairbury Jeffs duffle bag revealed numerous clear bags, some of which included a white crystalline substance and some being new. There were many items consistent with the use and distribution of controlled substances, such as a scoop, funnel, and clear numbered bags. A Nebraska Department of Corrections Released Inmate Identification card and journal with Sayge Peters's (sic) name was also found in the red duffel bag.”A search of a purse in the possession of Tara Peters reportedly uncovered “numerous pills.”In a room where, according to the affidavit, Erin Lane resides, deputies located, “a mirror with a white crystalline substance and a glass pipe with a burnt bulb containing a white substance were discovered in plain view.” On January 16, 2016, Sayge Peters was sentenced in Gage County District Court to up to four years in prison for two counts of possession of a controlled subsidence, each a class 4 felony. He was released on May 16, 2018.
