Wymore Man Faces Multiple Felony Drug, Firearm Charges

A Wymore resident is facing multiple felony charges after a search warrant allegedly uncovered drugs and firearms.Logan A. Retherford, age 23, is charged with three counts of possession of a firearm while committing a felony, a class 2 felony punishable by a minimum of on year and a maximum of 50 years in prison; two counts of possession of a controlled substance, a class 3 felony punishable by up to three years in prison, plus nine to 18 months of post-release supervision; and one count of possession or obtaining a legend drug, a class 1 misdemeanor punishable by one year in jail and a $1,000 fine.On Monday November 7, 2022 at approximately 6:25 a.m, the Gage County Sheriff’s Office executed two search warrants at residences in Wymore. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Wymore Police Department and Beatrice Police Department.During the search at one residence, deputies located three firearms, one which was reported stolen in a February 2022 Gage County burglary. Deputies also located a pill of acetaminophen/hydrocodone, a Schedule II controlled substance, and a bottle of liquid testosterone cypionate, which is a liquid form of steroids and a Schedule III controlled substance.Deputies arrested Retherford and Taylor Tart, age 18, both of Wymore.Another hearing is scheduled for March 24, 2023. The defendant remains free on a $35,000 bond.This is not Retherford’s first run in with the law. In 2017, he was accused of participating in a burglary in Beatrice that resulted in the theft of an AR 15 rifle, among other items. Retherford was originally charged with aiding and abetting a class 2A felony and failing to appear while out on bond, a class 4 felony. In accordance with a plea agreement, Retherford pleaded No Contest to reduced charges of aiding and abetting a class 1 misdemeanor, aiding and abetting a class 3 misdemeanor and attempt of a class 4 felony, which is a class 1 misdemeanor. He was sentenced to 180 days in jail.
