Wymore Man Faces Shoplifting Charges

Skyler Lee Hutchison, age 26, of Wymore, has been charged with shoplifting in Gage County.According to an Affidavit for Arrest Warrant, Beatrice Police were called to the Git N Split on May 27, 2022, in reference to an alleged theft. The officer who filled out the affidavit viewed video surveillance of the incident and wrote, “On May 30th, 2022 I was able to view the footage. In the video a female walks into the store and a few seconds later a male walks in wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt. I was able to identify the male as Skyler Hutchison through prior law enforcement contacts. Hutchison walks around the store with out his hands in his pockets and walks to where the alcohol is located. Hutchison bends over and appears to grab an item. Hutchison then walks towards the back of the store and down another aisle where he appears to put something under his clothing. After he does this Hutchison keeps one hand in his sweatshirt pocket. He walks towards the cash register area as if he is looking at something, then exits the store.”The value of the item allegedly stolen in less than $500, making the charge a class 2 misdemeanor, punishable by up to six months in jail and a $500 fine.A warrant was issued for Hutchison on June 9 and returned on June 10.According to the court file, the defendant is currently represented by attorney Timothy S. Noerrlinger.Hutchison was free on bond from a different case when the alleged incident occurred.In that case, Hutchison is charged with four counts: third degree domestic assault, a class 1 misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail and a $1,000 fine; terroristic threats, a class 3A felony punishable by up t three years in prison and 18 months of post-release supervision; theft with a value of less that $500, a class 2 misdemeanor; and theft with a value between $500 and $5,000, a class 4 felony punishable by two years in prison and one year of post-release supervision.That case has been bound over to District Court in Gage County.
