Wymore Man Facing Multiple Charges Reaches Plea Agreement, Gets Probation

Justin R. Mick, age 39, of Wymore, appeared in Gage County Court on April 25, 2024, where he was sentenced on multiple cases.One one case, Mick is charged with criminal mischief and disturbing the peace, both class one misdemeanors punishable by a year in jail and a $1,000 fine.On January 19, 2023, deputies with the Gage County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a residence in Wymore in response to a report of, “a male attempting to kick in the door to an apartment,” according to the Probable Cause for Warrantless Arrest affidavit.The deputy that filled out the affidavit also wrote, “I was also informed that Mick has broken a window, and dispatch could hear Mick yelling and banging over the phone.”The defendant was arrested and lodged at the Gage County Detention Center.In accordance with a plea agreement, Mick pleaded no contest to disturbing the peace. The criminal mischief charged was dismissed.In a separate case, on August 31, 2023, Mick was alleged to have given, “information he or she knew to be false to a peace officer or other official with the intent to instigate an investigation of an alleged criminal matter or to impede the investigation of an actual criminal matter,” according to the citation.In this matter, Mick pleaded no contest.On September 13, 2023, Mick was arrested for Dui (Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol), with an allegedly high blood alcohol level of .15, a class W misdemeanor. He was also charged with driving without a license, a class 3 misdemeanor.In accordance with a plea agreement, Mick pleaded no contest to a reduced charge of first offense DUI without the high test enhancement. The charge of driving without a license was dismissed.Mick was sentenced to nine months of probation for each case. In the DUI matter, his driver's license was revoked for 60 days.
