Wymore Woman Accused of Criminal Impersonation Reaches Plea Agreement

A Wymore woman charged with criminal impersonation has reached an agreement with the State.Katherine E. Jueneman, age 36, is scheduled to be sentenced on April 27, 2023, in Gage County.Jueneman was originally charged with criminal impersonation after giving an officer of the Wymore Police Department a false name.According to the Affidavit for Arrest Warrant, a Wymore Police Officer conducted a traffic stop on November 22, 2022. The driver indicated she had left her driver's license at home but presented a bill of sale for the vehicle. The officer cited the driver for “Duty to Carry.”Later, while filling out the report, the officer looked up the driver's license information and, according to the affidavit, “I noted the driver's license photo was of a different driver than the one I stopped.”An investigation identified the driver as Katherine Jueneman and a warrant was issued for Jueneman's arrest.Criminal impersonation is a class 4 felony punishable by up to two years in prison and one year of post-release supervision. In addition, the defendant was charged with two counts of driving under a suspended license, a class 3 misdemeanor punishable by three months in jail and a $500 fine, as well as violating a stop sign and possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, both infractions.In accordance with a plea agreement, Jueneman pleaded No Contest to a reduced charge of attempt of a class 1 misdemeanor, which is a class 2 misdemeanor, and driving under a suspected license. The remaining charges were dismissed.This is not Jueneman's first run in with the law. On September 27, 2022, she was fined $500 in Gage County Court for violating a harassment protection order, a class 2 misdemeanor punishable by six months in jail and a $1,000 fine. The alleged violation occurred on or about June 19 of this year. There is no affidavit on file and no details of the complaint are available in the court file.
