Wymore Woman Charged with False Threat

On Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at approximately 7:27 a.m., the Gage County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a business on Southwest 89th Road near West Hickory Road for a report of a possible armed person/active shooter. The sheriff’s office was dispatched to Koch Fertilizer plant, but the location was later determined to be Nutrien Homestead Terminal.Upon arrival at the scene, deputies interviewed witnesses and learned that a person had called the business and reported a contract employee was possibly coming to the site with a firearm. Within a few minutes, the deputy and investigator at the plant determined the contract employee was actually working at another plant a half-mile away.According to the sheriff's office, “Deputies made contact with the management at the second site and confirmed the employee was working at their site today, however the employee was behaving normally and there was no known concerns involving the contract employee.”Gage County Sheriff’s Office deputies, assisted by two troopers from the Nebraska State Patrol, were able to make contact with the employee outside his workshop and during the investigation, determined he did not bring a firearm with him and he did not have any ill intent toward the facility or his fellow employees.The investigation that day determined there was no basis for an active shooter or armed suspect complaint. Deputies notified both businesses that no criminal violations had been concerned and the employee was released back to his employer.The Gage County Sheriff’s Office conducted a follow-up investigation and were able to determine who had made the call to Koch because she had also contacted Southeast Communications 10 minutes prior to calling Koch. An investigator called the phone number that had reported the incident and spoke to an unidentified female, but she declined to give her name.During the course of the investigation, the sheriff's office determined that Katherine E. Jueneman, age 36, of Wymore, had allegedly made calls to Southeast Communications and to Koch Fertilizer about an armed suspect.Deputies attempted to contact Jueneman that day in Wymore but could not locate her. On Wednesday, April 19, a Gage County Sheriff’s Office Deputy located Jueneman at her place of employment in Blue Springs and issued her a criminal citation for false reporting. Deputies and an investigator notified the affected businesses of the arrest by citation.Jueneman has two other court cases pending.Jueneman, is scheduled to be sentenced on June 16, 2023, in Gage County. She was originally charged with criminal impersonation after giving an officer of the Wymore Police Department a false name.According to the Affidavit for Arrest Warrant, a Wymore police officer conducted a traffic stop on November 22, 2022. The driver indicated she had left her driver's license at home but presented a bill of sale for the vehicle. The officer cited the driver for “Duty to Carry.”Later, while filling out the report, the officer looked up the driver's license information and, according to the affidavit, “I noted the driver's license photo was of a different driver than the one I stopped.”An investigation identified the driver as Jueneman and a warrant was issued for her arrest.Criminal impersonation is a class 4 felony punishable by up to two years in prison and one year of post-release supervision. In addition, the defendant was charged with two counts of driving under a suspended license, a class 3 misdemeanor punishable by three months in jail and a $500 fine, as well as violating a stop sign and possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, both infractions.In accordance with a plea agreement, Jueneman pleaded No Contest to a reduced charge of attempt of a class 1 misdemeanor, which is a class 2 misdemeanor, and driving under a suspected license. The remaining charges were dismissed.On April 17 of this year, Jueneman was arrested by the Gage County Sheriff's Office after a traffic stop in Wymore. She is charged with resisting arrest and obstructing a peace officer, both class 1 misdemeanors punishable by a year in jail and a $1,000 fine. She is also charged with refusing to submit to a test, a class W misdemeanor; refusing to submit to a pretest, a class 5 misdemeanor; and driving under a suspended license, a class 3 misdemeanor. She was arraigned on April 27.
