Central Hires New Principal

Kimberly Roberts, Director of Interventions at Tri County Public Schools, will soon be taking on a new role at a new school. Roberts has been selected to serve as Central Elementary School’s Principal in Fairbury for the 2024-25 school year.The Fairbury Board of Education voted to approve the hiring of Roberts at a meeting on Monday, April 8, 2024, with a salary of $93,000.00. Roberts has 14 years of experience in education. She taught at Elkhorn Public Schools for her first ten years in PK-5 special education and fourth grade. She then taught sixth grade at Tri County for three years.“My family consists of my husband, Sean Roberts, who is the mental health therapist for ESU5 and serves Fairbury Public Schools. We have three children Lane (eight-years-old), Beau (four-years-old) and Macklynn (18 months),” Roberts said. Roberts will be replacing Jared Haag. When asked why he was leaving, Hagg said, “I was offered an elementary principal position at District OR-1 which is close to where my family resides and where we previously lived prior to moving to Fairbury. We are excited to move our three young children closer to family. We absolutely loved and appreciated working at Fairbury Public Schools. It is a great school district with amazing staff, students, and families. Mrs. Roberts will do a fantastic job, continuing to advance educational progress from my tenure as Central Elementary Principal. Amazing things happen at Central Elementary!”
