In Jefferson County Court-Joshua V. Poley, age 29, of Western, appeared in Jefferson County Court on Wednesday, April 3, 2024. Linda Bauer was the presiding judge. Poley was arraigned on a charge of criminal impersonation, a class 4 felony. He is also charged with driving under a suspended license, a class 3 misdemeanor, and false reporting, a class 1 misdemeanor. Poley was recently arrested on two warrants, both for prior charges of driving under a suspended license, for which Poley failed to appear for court in 2023.
Blanche Cain, age 62, is charged with possession of methamphetamine, a class 4 felony. The defendant is currently free on a PR (Personal Recognizance) bond. Another hearing is scheduled for May 8, 2024.
Ronald E. John, age 57, of Fairbury, was arraigned on a charge of possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person, a class 3 felony, and possession of a controlled substance, a class 4 felony. The case was continued until May 8.
Macon J. Kaer, age 37, of Fairbury, is charged with possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, a class 1B felony, and with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, a class 4 felony. He waived his right to a preliminary hearing and his case was bound over to district court. He remains in custody as of press time.
Warrants Issued in Jefferson County Court-James A. Bates, age 59, was scheduled to be arraigned in Jefferson County Court on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, but failed to appear. Bates is charged with driving under a suspended license and driving without a registration, both class 3 misdemeanors, and driving without proof of insurance, a class 2 misdemeanor. He had a previous court date of march 20 but failed to show for that one as well. Judge Bauer issued an arrest warrant and set bond at $1,500 (10 percent).
In Jefferson County District Court-Ryan N. Gray, age 46, was arraigned in Jefferson County District Court on Thursday, April 4, 2024. David J.A. Bargen was the presiding judge. He is charged with five counts: possession of 140 grams or more of methamphetamine, a class 1B felony; possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute within 1.000 feet of a school, a class 2 felony; possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, a class 2 felony; possession of methamphetamine, a class 4 felony; and possession of one pound or more of marijuana, a class 4 felony.
