Daniel Sprague

Daniel James Sprague, formerly of Fairbury, was born on August 31, 1940 in Beatrice and passed away of natural causes on June 8, 2022 at his home in Naples, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Hazel Sprague, two brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his wife Lois, two sons David and wife Kim and Dean and wife Susan, five grandchildren Nicholaus, Gabriel, Isaac and wife Nicole, Abigail and husband Clay and Mason, great grandchildren Maya, Peter and Kit, brother William and wife Nancy and sister Ruth Shottenkirk, sister-in-law Marilee Krehnke and husband Deon, lifetime friend Guy G. Miller, who’s son is named after him, Daniel James Miller.
Dan lived a productive life in the glass business. In 1976, he started his own glass business in Fairbury, and later added three more stores. He sold these businesses and retired in 2000 to Glades Golf and Country Club playing golf with his friends.
Dan was in National Guard as an accomplished shooter and won many awards for his marksmanship.
Growing up in Nebraska, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had his private pilot’s license and loved flying during his earlier years.
Dan attended Christian services at Celebration Community Beach Church.
