Daykin Woman Pleads Guilty to Theft

Harlee D. Kaderabek, age 25, of Daykin, pleaded guilty to theft in Jefferson County Court on Wednesday, March 1, 2023. Linda Bauer was the presiding judge.
Kaderabek was charged with theft by unlawful taking, value less than $500, a class 2 misdemeanor punishable by six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.
The defendant was accused of stealing items from Walmart in Fairbury worth a total of $87.13. According to Jefferson County Attorney Joseph Casson, Kaderabek was an employee of Walmart and stole “nominal” items by using the self-checkout lane and not scanning every item.
Sentencing is scheduled for May 3 to give the defendant time to pay restitution.
