Fairbury Laundromat Will Reopen
Fairbury’s lone laundromat has been sold and will be reopening.
The city has been without a laundromat since early July of this year, when Doug Bristol, veteran and proprietor of Dirty Biz Laundry at 521 C Street, was killed in a motorcycle accident in York County.
There was considerable public interest in acquiring the building and business, which was up for sale for just days before an offer was accepted.
Cindy Hill, Realtor with Tenacious Realty, accounted the sale Wednesday, August 28.
She confirmed an offer had been accepted, although she said could not confirm the name of the buyer as the transaction is still in process. However, she did tell FJN, “(I)t was indicated to me that they do intend to keep it as a laundromat. Which I think is wonderful news!”
