Fairbury Woman Pleads Guilty to Violating Protection Order

Christina D. Weidner, age 34, of Fairbury, pleaded guilty to violating a protection order in Jefferson County Court on Wednesday, December 14, 2022. She appeared in court in the custody of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. Linda Bauer was the presiding judge.Weidner was charged with violating a protection order. She has a prior conviction of the same offense, making this charge a class 4 felony, punishable by up to two years in prison and one year of post-release supervision.In accordance with a plea agreement, the prior conviction enhancement was dismissed and the charge reduced to a class 1 misdemeanor.Judge Bauer sentenced the defendant to 15 days in jail, with credit for 17 days time served.Prior ArrestsThe defendant was arrested on September 27, 2022, after Jefferson County deputies responded to a report of a protection order violation at a residence in Fairbury.Earlier this year, Weidner was charged with two counts of violating a protection order.On Tuesday, April 22, 2022, were dispatched to a residence in Fairbury in response to a possible violation of an Ex Parte Domestic Abuse Protection Order. Weidner was arrested at the scene at approximately 10:40 p.m.She was later released on a $3,500 (10 percent) bond.On February 23, the Sheriff's Office received a call from the petitioner at approximately 4:35 p.m., stating that Weidner was on his property. The petitioner was not there at the time but, according to the affidavit, the petitioner, “wanted to make sure that Christina was not there when he goes home.”Deputies arrived at the residence and confirmed Weidner was on the premises. She was arrested at approximately 4:44 p.m. that same day.In accordance with the plea agreement in those cases, she pleaded guilty to one charge and the other was dropped. Weidner was fined $250.
