FJN Receives Multiple Awards At Convention

The Fairbury Journal-News returned from the 2022 Nebraska Press Association annual convention with numerous awards.Once again, Jennifer Lewis, graphic design and ad manager for FJN, proved she is one of the very best in her field in Nebraska.Lewis won second place for Advertisement of the Year; first place for single retail ad idea, color; second place in the class for websites; second place for advertising campaign; third place for classified section; third place small ad under 1/4 page; third place ag ad; third place use of computer graphics; third place lifestyles section.“Jennifer is without a doubt the best out there when it comes to helping customers reach their goals with her vision in the design world, coupled with her progressive mind for ad campaigns and layout,” Timothy Linscott, owner of FJN said. “She really is one of the best there is in the field.”Emerging as one of the best and varied skilled news editors in the state, Gordon Hopkins won first and second place in best use of social media; first place in personal column; second place in news writing; third place in breaking news photography; third place in entertainment story category.“Gordon is beginning to not only pick up a variety of skill sets in the business, but become proficient and excel with those skills,” Linscott said. “Everything Gordon does he can do with incredible skill and insight.”Completing his first year in the business, sports editor Taybor Miller won two awards: second place for Feature Photo of the Year and second in reader interaction/contest.“Taybor has a great eye for photography and a real passion for covering sports. I can’t wait to see what his future holds,” Linscott said.
