FPS Hires Seven New Staff, Three Resign

Several staffing changed were approved at a meeting of the Fairbury Public Schools Board of Education the evening of Monday, April 11. The Board approved the hiring of several new staff, including Tiffany Sand as preschool teacher, Gary Klahn as secondary math teacher, Trenton Fortner as secondary English teacher, Deb Pohlmann as 5-12 Instrumental Music, John Novotny as Industrial Tech teacher, Kaitlin Bradley as School Psychologist and Marisa Garver as elementary teacher for the 2022-2023 school year.The school currently has a band teacher, Ryan Dusso. High school Principal Sean Molloy told FJN, “If things work out accordingly, Mr. Dusso will focus on 5-12 vocal. The new hire will focus on 5-12 instrumental.” Kaitlin Bradley has already been working for FPS this school year. Superintendent Stephen Grizzle told FJN that Bradley was a paid internship. Dr. Jill Timmons, Ph.D., NCSP, told FJN, “She has done an excellent job for us and will continue to do great work next year in this position. Right now, FPS isn’t looking to hire another school psych, we had the position posted for 3-4 years before we found Kaitlin, and school psychs are incredibly difficult to come by.” The board also approved the resignation of three staff members: Odessa Ambrose, LIFE Special Education Teacher, and Linda Brown, Junior-Senior High School Teacher, at the end of the 2021-2022 school year and Dr. Timmons at the end of the 2021-2022 contract year.The position the school has posted to replace Dr. Timmons is the Director of Special Education.
