Jefferson County Needs Your Help

Hello Jefferson County citizens and happy new year to each of you!
As we all know, adequate broadband coverage is very important to all aspects of our society, especially our schools and students trying to access the internet at home. As you are hopefully aware from various requests Jefferson County has had in the local media, Jefferson County is asking for the help of our citizens to review the FCC broadband map and submit a challenge by address as appropriate to what is reported there. We have completed reviews of this with various entities and is vitally important we get this map as accurate as possible as the FCC allocation of the $42.5B BEAD (Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment) funds will be based on this map. That funding portion provided to Nebraska will then be administered by the Nebraska Public Service Commission. This is a huge game changer for Jefferson County and Nebraska and will make a difference for generations to come.
Deadline is January 13, 2023
The website is: broadbandmap.fcc.gov. You just go there and plug in your address, and submit challenge as appropriate.
We are asking each of you to please ensure this gets out.
