Randy S. Novotny

Randy S. Novotny, age 61 of Wymore passed away peacefully on March 2, 2023 at the Beatrice Community Hospital and Health Center. He was born in Marysville, Kansas on April 23, 1961 to Dale “Jake” and Lois (Schroller) Novotny. He attended school at Oketo Elementary and was a graduate of Marysville High School. Randy started his career mowing yards for elderly people in Oketo. He then worked for Dale Prebyl selling antiques and collectables at flea markets. He then worked at Walmart, Weaver Construction, Latta Plumbing, and Temps Disposal all in Marysville until he found his niche as a roller operator for Hall Brothers in Marysville for 20 years. Randy worked long, hard hours out in the heat of the summer and worked away from home several times. Almost every boss he had wished they had 10 guys like Randy because he was such a hard worker. He ran his own business from his garage called Thriftables where he sold antiques and collectables for 4 years.
Randy was a past member of the Wymore Jaycees and the Southern Gage Community Pride Group. He enjoyed drinking beer, watching Classic TV – especially Green Acres and Beverly Hillbillies, fishing, hunting, football, going to flea markets and garage sales, watching NASCAR and playing with his great nieces and nephews.
Anyone that ever know Randy Knew he was happy-go-lucky and very ornery. He had a heart of gold and was always quick to help others. Randy has battled health problems for the last 12 years of his life. He still would smile that ornery smile, no matter what he was facing with his health problems almost ’til the end.
