Rollover Accident Near Pickrell

On Monday, December 19, 2022, at approximately 3:13 p.m., the Gage County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a single vehicle ‘rollover’ accident at the intersection of West Chestnut Road and Southwest 58th Road, about three miles west of Pickrell. Due to numerous other calls for service, the closest sheriff’s office personnel was an investigator who responded to the scene.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, a 2012 Chevrolet SUV, driven by 29-year-old Paige Vilda of DeWitt, was eastbound on West Chestnut Road, lost traction in the snow-covered road, and slid off West Chestnut Road into the ditch on the southeast corner of Southwest 58th Road, and rolled over, coming to a rest on the driver’s side of the vehicle.
Vilda was extricated from the vehicle by rescue personnel and was treated at the scene by paramedics from the Pickrell Volunteer Fire Department and Beatrice Fire and Rescue. She was then transported to Beatrice Community Hospital for treatment.
The sheriff’s office has determined that speed and alcohol are not considered to be factors in the accident.
