Sipek Signs With Peru

It’s a position that’s often left thankless, but is appreciated by many.
The position of being the one behind the plate and controlling the chaos as a catcher is something that Casidy Sipek as made a career out of and has done so well with that career it’s moving on to the collegiate level with Sipek signing a letter of intent to play softball for Peru State University.

As careers often do fly by when having fun, Casidy has appreciated every moment saying, “You know for the career, it goes by fast, but never going to forget being a part of a team that won state. It was a really special year, with the teammates I had, and the whole year was something I’ll never forget with the memories we made.”
The devil is in the details and at times the details require the dirty and hard work that others won’t make an effort to do.

For Sipek, it’s nothing new to her, “What I’m bringing to Peru State is a work ethic to do anything the coaches ask, I’ve been playing catcher for awhile so I’m use to the things that are asked of and I’ve got no problem going the extra mile.”
Going that extra mile is something she is used to and willing to continue to do at Peru with some familiar Faibury faces.

“I’m going to give it the same effort I’ve always been giving. It’s nice knowing what teammates I’ve had in the past that are already there with Ella Ohlde and I’ve been behind the plate with Jami (Mans) for so many years. I can’t wait to be behind the plate doing that again with her again. I can’t wait to get started.”
By the end of her career, if there was ever a model of consistency the Casidy Spike had proven to be that time and time again. A career batting average of 0.393, with 21 career home-runs, 26 doubles, two triples, 84 hits, and 86 RBI will be a very helpful lift to the Peru State Bobcats in the coming years.
