Two Vehicle Accident Thursday Morning
Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Fairbury Rural Fire and Ambulance District #33 were dispatched to the scene of a two-vehicle accident at 14th and H Streets in Fairbury at approximately 11:2 a.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2023. Considerable debris was scattered across the road and a light pole was knocked down. The intersection was closed while the scene was cleaned up.
According to the Sheriff’s office, a 1998 Dodge Ram Pickup pulling a trailer with a car on the trailer, was eastbound on 14th Street and was driven by Joshua Carpenter, age 39, of Beatrice, was struck by a 2014 Ford Focus and was southbound on H Street approaching the 14th street intersection and was driven by Retha Parrack, age 81, of Fairbury. Parrack stopped at the stop sign on H Street and went to proceed south across the intersection but didn’t see the traveling vehicle.
Parrack was transported to Jefferson Community Health and Life with minor injuries.
