Blue Springs Man Alleged to Have Tattooed Sexual Assault Victim

A Blue Springs man facing multiple charges of the sexual assault of a minor as well as giving the victim a tattoo has reached a plea agreement.
Bryon M. Forney, age 40, of Blue Springs, was originally charged in Gage County District Court with six counts: two counts of sexual assault of a minor, a class 1B felony punishable by a minimum of 20 years up to life in prison; child abuse, a class 3A felony punishable by three years in prison, 18 months of post-release supervision and a $10,000 fine; debauching a minor, class 1 misdemeanor punishable by one year in jail and a $1,000 fine; contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a class 1 misdemeanor; and body art without parental consent, a class 3 misdemeanor punishable by three months in jail and a $500 fine.
The alleged victim reported the assaults during an interview with Child Advocacy Center in Lincoln, as well as receiving the tattoo.
The defendant was arrested May 18 of this year.
In accordance with the plea agreement, Forney pleaded guilty to contributing to the delinquency of a minor, as well as reduced charges of attempt of a class 3 or 3A felony, which is a class 4 felony, and second degree false imprisonment, also a class 1 misdemeanor.
Sentence is scheduled for February 22, 2024.
Bond is currently set at $750,000 (10 percent). The defendant remains in custody as of press time.
Forney has a prior criminal record.
In 2019, he pleaded No Contest to attempted receipt of stolen property with a value greater that $5,000.
He was sentenced to three years.
In 2022, Forney pleaded No Contest to possession of a controlled substance, a class 4 felony and was sentenced tom 20 to 60 months.
