Tri County: The Tri County Lady Trojans grabbed their first win of the season against Pawnee City, 51-45, on Dec. 6, but fell in the next two games as they lost to Southern on Dec. 9, 32-42, and on Dec. 10 would lose 26-59 to Centennial.Southern: Southern Lady Raiders stayed undefeated on the season as they defeated Tri County on Dec. 16, 42-32 and then Deshler on Dec. 10, 35-23.Southern was again led by Callie Cooper as she has recorded a fourth straight double-double this year. On Friday, Cooper not only surpassed the 1,000-career point milestone but was able to score 31 points, grab 21 rebounds, two assists, three steals and one block and on Saturday scored 19 points with 12 rebounds, two assists, two blocks, along with senior Kendrea Troxel who had eight points, six rebounds, two assists and one steal to contribute.Head coach Hanah Baumgartner was able to comment on the milestone passed by Cooper, “The entire team achieved a goal when Callie scored her 1,000 career points during the Tri-County game. This is a milestone that everyone contributed to and a huge accomplishment for Callie that has put in the time and effort at an early age. I am very proud of our team and the girls playing their roles on the team and contributing in their own specific way.”Wilber-Clatonia: The Wilber-Clatonia Lady Wolverines moved to 2-2 as they fell 13-38 to Raymond Central on Dec. 9 and then 43-53 on Dec. 10.Diller-Odell: The Lady Griffins fell to 2-2 on the season as they lost to Thayer Central on Dec. 6 and then Sterling Dec. 9. Despite the losses, D-O had some great showings from Baileigh Vilda who scored 10 points, nine rebounds, one steal, one block.Karli Heidemann led the team with 12 rebounds, had three blocks and scored four points, while Ashley Duis was able to score 14 points, and grab five rebounds as well.Meridian: The Meridian Lady Mustangs were unable to keep up with Cross County as they lost 30-49 on Dec. 9. Top performers for Meridian was Taelyn Filipi scoring eight points and grabbing two rebounds.Jaylee Sobotka led the team with seven rebounds, scored two points and had one steal while Kaylee Pribyl had six points, one rebound, one steal and one assist.Fairbury: Fairbury Lady Jeffs fought valiantly but lost to Milford on 25-53 on Dec. 9 and then Thayer Central with the final score 33-37 on Dec. 10.Fairbury fell to 0-4 on the season.*No Stats were available as of press time.Thayer Central: The Titans pushed on to 4-0 as their defense got them past Diller-Odell 50-34 on Dec. 6 and then Fairbury with the final score 37-33 on Dec. 10.Against Fairbury, it was jnior Natalie Tietjen leading the way on both sides as she finished with 25 points, five rebounds, two assists, three steals and Piper Havel led the with seven rebounds, and had one block and scored five points to contribute to the victory.
