Swimmers Make A Splash At Ralston

As the season progresses the Beatrice, Norris, Freeman, Fairbury swim and dive team continues to gain momentum.On January 18 the Beatrice Norris Freeman and Fairbury dive and swim team would dual with Columbus and come away with a strong win for both boys and girls.Coach Dina Scheele was able to reflect on the dual saying, “It was nice to have a win for both the girls and boys. The Ralston pool is a favorite for our swimmers to swim at and usually we see some fast times come out of that pool.“These swimmers brought the power and swam very well. This is what this team has been needing. We came away with twenty-three personal best times and four new secondary qualifying state times”.First place finishes came from the efforts of Mikya Lierman in the 200 free, Avery Baumann in the 50 free and 100 free, the Girls 200 Free Relay of Mikya Lierman, Katie Malina, Jaedyn Baxa and Avery Baumann, and Girls 400 Free Relay of Avery Baumann, Jaedyn Baxa, Laci Havlat and Mikya Liermann.Getting second place finishes was Ericka Kroeker in the 100 butterfly, Lily Davis in diving, and Mikya Lierman in the 100 free.On Saturday (January 22) BNFF would be competing in the Ralston Diving invite. A great effort put out by Lily Davis being able to place second scoring 284.95 and Ava Synder taking third scoring 283.20 through 11 dives on the weekend.The BNFF swim and dive team will be on the road Thursday, January 27 with a dual against Lincoln North Star at Lincoln North Star.
