Wolverines Host Titans, Trojans

The Wilber-Clatonia Wolverines boys track team defended their home winning first at their invitational finishing with 163 points on March 29. Throughout the entirety of the meet W.C. had made their presence felt in the top placings in numerous events.A duo of Mason Combs and Carter Skelba placed in the top five of triple jump and long jump with Skelba earning fourth and Combs with third in both events. Mason Combs would also go on to set a new P.B. in high jump and jump to first reaching the height of 6’4’’ and bolted his way to first in the 200m dash with :25.06 as his time. In pole vault Ashton Pulliam set a new P.B. winning first by vaulting to a height of 13’07’’. For throwing events W.C. had a great outing with a trio placing in the top five of the discus.Throwing himself to second with 146’01” was Tyson Kreshel, following behind him in third was Adam Kotas, and Jorge Vazquez finished with fourth. Kreshel would later throw his way into first in the shot put getting a distance of 50’10” and Kotas would take third in that event as well. The running events was no different as the 4×800 relay with Jonathon Zoubek, Steven Pronk, Logan Herndon, and Gavin Vlcan placed second, the 4×100 relay with Tyson Kreshel, Quinn Palmer, Carter Skelba, and Ashton Pulliam placed third, and the 4×400 comprised of Jonathon Zoubek, Cash Keslar, Steven Pronk, Quinn Palmer earned first place running a time of 3:40.59.In the 110m hurdles Cash Keslar and Quinn Palmer each placed in top five as well with Keslar earning second and Palmer getting fourth. Jonathon Zoubek was able to place second in the 800m run with 2:15.87. Of all W.C. Wolverines competing Houston Broz had quite the day as he completed a triple crown as he ran away with first in the 400m dash with a time of :53.20, the 110m hurdles in the time :15.86, and 300m hurdles clocking in the time :43.04.Wilber-Clatonia Wolverines girls track team had placed seventh but still had a great effort displayed with top placings in events. A great showing in the throwing events came from Aspen Oliver placing first with a throw of 34-01 ½ in the shot put and Jera Schuerman was able to place second in the discus with a throw reaching the distance of 113’ 05”. The 4×800 relay team with Lena Eschiti, Alexa Landeros, Madison Vogel, and Delaney Siems placed 5thas did the 4x400 with Jera Schuerman, Breanna Spilker, Tatiana Mexa and Lena Eschiti.Thayer Central Titans girls track place second at the Wilber-Clatonia Invite. Another solid meet for Thayer Central had great results throughout the invitational. Getting top placings in the throwing events came from the efforts of senior Kaisha Solomon getting third by throwing 31-11 in the shot put and in the discus seniors Cassie Hergott had a throw of 111-00 placing her at third and Kinsley Kugel placed fifth.From jumping events Jadyn Bowman was able to place third jumping to 15’ 0.25” and Josey Welch took fourth in the pole vault. Entering the races Thayer Central was able to perform just as well from the field events as the 4×800 relay team comprised of Natalie Tietjen, Sydney Escritt, Jadyn Bowman, and Allison Richardson placed third with a time of 11:35.80. The 4×400 was started by Natalie Tietjen along with Josey Welch, Jadyn Bowman, and Madelynn Wells earning second with a time of 4:39.81.The 4×100 relay team of Halsey Heitmann, Madelynn Wells, Allison Richardson and Ava Wiedel placed fifth. Dashing her way into top placings again was Jayme Huhman as she placed second in the 100m dash running :13.89, and third in the 400m dash with a time 1:08.72. Natalie Tietjen was able to place fourth in the 400m dash as well. For Madelynn Wells it was another great effort in the hurdles as she took first in both events getting :17.50 for the 100m hurdles, and :53.28.Thayer Central Titans boys track place third at the Wilber-Clatonia Invite. Jumping to the top placings again in the long jump was Grant Wiedel getting second with the distance of 20’04 ½”. Senior Lachian Pickering would place fifth in the triple jump for Thayer Central as well.Taking to the air with great success again was Thayer Central’s trio of pole vaulters with Treyton Waldmeier launching himself in to second with a height of 11’00’’, Triston Wells would get third, and Bradley Neff finished fourth. Neff would be the first to start in the 4×800 as well while being joined by Christian Krupicka, Colter Sinn, and Adam Luckert running a time of 9:58.07 to place third. The 4×400 relay team with Jordan Mariska, Nate Burd, Braxton Dankenbring, and Sam Souerdyke managed to place fifth. Grant Wiedel not only had top placement in long jump but in the races as well. Wiedel had a great meet as he was able to place fourth in the 200m dash, the 400m run, and placed first in the 100m dash clocking in a time of :11.48.Tri County Trojans girls track team placed sixth at the Wilber-Clatonia Invite.Of the top performances came from Catrina Washburn placing fourth in both the long jump and triple jump.Ella Clark was able to place second in the 400m dash with a time 1:07.48 and fifth in the high jump.Morgan Stokebrand was able to throw her way into the top five placing fourth in the shot put. The 4×800 relay of Cassidy Thavenet, Rylee McCune, Karli Scherling, and Aubrey Siems placed fourth and the 4×400 consisting of Kenzie Strein, Abbie Drewes, Ellie Peters, and Ella Clark was able to place third with a time 4:42.47.Tri County Trojans boys track team was able to place fifth at the Wilber-Clatonia Invite.A good showing in the relays as the 4×400 team with Grant Lewandowski, Ben Holsing, Dustin Kapke, and Carter Siems placing second with 3:44.25 as their time. Lewandowski also had a good showing the races placing fourth in the 100m dash, third in the 200m dash, and third in the 400m dash. Carter Siems had a great day of running as well placing third in the 800m run, second in the 1600m run finishing just under five minutes with 4:58.34, and second in the triple jump reaching a distance of 42-03 ¼.
