The Fairbury lady Jeffs couldn’t win on the board in the attempt for a comeback losing 39-44 to Superior on Tuesday, December 5th.A tough night on the glass, Fairbury was beat in the rebounds by 19 as it would go 27-46 for Superior. Though losing the rebound battle, the lady Jeffs were able to shoot 67% as a team at the free-throw line, shot 25% behind the arch, and won the steals battle with 12-10.Top efforts from Fairbury came by Deja Vocelka, finishing with a team leading six steals, scored five points, managed two rebounds and one assist. Eliza Kroeker was able to score six points, grab seven rebounds to lead the team, get two blocks, one steal and one assist. Evelyn Timmons provided seven points, five rebounds, one assist and one steal. While Izzy Ohlde also had seven points, grabbed two rebounds, gave out three assists and came up with three steals.Fairbury will look to get back to winning ways as they host Milford on Friday, December 8th and then hit the road on Saturday, December 9th going against Thayer Central. The Fairbury Jeffs bring out a strong defense winning 52-23 against Superior on Tuesday, December 5th. The Jeffs offense was led by Blake Starr shooting 64% as he went nine for 14 finishing with 22 points, had six rebounds, one steal and two blocks. Brodie Prellwitz led the team on the glass as he was able to have a career high in rebounds and his first career double double as he scored 14 points, and had 11 rebounds along with six steals and one assist.Just missing the double digits in scoring was Drew Watson who contributed eight points, five rebounds, one steal and one block. With the victory and momentum on the side, Fairbury will be looking to host Milford on Friday, December 8th and then be on the road the following day Saturday, December 9th going against Thayer Central.
