On Saturday, September 4 the Fairbury Jeff\u2019s softball would end with a 1-2 record on the day at the Fairbury Softball tournament. The first game for the Jeffs would be against Centennial where they would claim victory 9-4 off of eight hits. Jami Mans and Izzy Ohlde would each manage multiple hits for the Jeffs. Ohlde led the way with three RBI. TaLeia Cervantes went one-for-three and came away with two RBI. Jadyen Tracy hit a solo home run in the fifth inning as well. Aspen DeFrain took the win for the Fairbury Jeffs after allowing six hits, having four runs over four-and-a-third innings, striking out three.\nJami Mans threw two thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.\nIn their second game the Fairbury Jeffs would struggle to get the offense going as they would lose to Scottsbluff 12-3. DeFrain went two-for-two with her first hit a single on a 3-2 count, scoring one run in the first inning. Mans also came away with two hits on three at bats for the game. Mans took the mound and the loss for the Jeffs after surrendering 12 runs on 13 hits over five innings, and walking one.\nThe third game for the Fairbury Jeffs softball saw it slip away early as they lose to Malcolm 6-2. The bulk of the offense came from Casidy Sipek who was able to go yard in the seventh inning bringing across two RBI. Malayne DeBoer, Jami Mans, Cobie Cole, Anna York and Sipek collected one hit each.\nDeFrain took the loss for the Jeffs after lasting three innings allowing five hits, and four runs while striking out two.\nThe Fairbury Jeffs softball now moves to a record of 7-7 and will hosted Auburn on September 7.\nCoverage on that game will be in the Friday addition.
