Pribyl Signs With Doane

There are some athletes that display a fiery demeanor, and there are others whose actions speak louder than they’d prefer too. Meridian senior Kaylee Pribyl may be an athlete of few words, but her actions have often been able to speak for her more than any word ever could.Depending on the sport a spectator was watching, many things about Pribyl would become obvious as time would progress. The apparent quickness opens the eyes, whether it was being the libero in volleyball, a guard on the basketball court, or dashing in the 100m on the track Pribyl has something that can’t be taught which is speed.If that wasn’t enough of a selling point, then looking at the progression she’s shown on the track is more than enough evidence as to why Doane pushed for and had signed Kaylee Pribyl to compete in track and field.As a sophomore Pribyl was able to place in the top five with fourth place in the pole vault besting at the time a PR height. She had qualified for long jump and the 100m dash as well that year.The following year as Junior showed a versatility by qualifying in four different events, and it was a record setting one as Pribyl would set and then break her own pole vault record multiple times with the best time coming at state track as she would break her own school record, and take first place in the pole vault as the first Meridian Mustang to win in that event.As it’s been a quite a legacy, Pribyl has been a shining light of trusting the process as last year in the pole vault she had finished the year by increasing her vaulting height by a foot and a half, reflecting on the upcoming season and past hasn’t been lost on Pribyl knowing she couldn’t do it with those around her, “I’ve been fortunate to have some great coaches to work with in school and they’ve always been there to pick me up when I was down on myself which always meant a lot.”As it happened so fast Kaylee Pribyl looks back to the practices and road trips more than anything with the career, “My memories always go back to the road trips after games, and time between events that I’ll miss the most with my friends because it all goes to fast.”
