Southern/Diller-Odell Thunder on the momentum of a three game win-streak push onward with four wins in a pitcher’s duel as the S.D.O Thunder hold onto the 2-1 victory over Auburn on Thursday September 7th. For starting on the mound Karrigan Henrichs came ready to battle as the right-hander went the full seven innings, striking out 10, allowing only four hits and one walk. Leading the offense was Savannah Mason going two for three with one double. Reegan Lauby, Maddie Parde, Mya Frase, Azlynn Stevens, and Karrigan Henrichs each had one hit as well, and Scarlett Steensnes also contributed one stolen base. Parde and Lauby’s each had one double for their lone hit. S.D.O will be on the road as they head to the Falls City Invite on Saturday September 9th. Wilber-Clatonia Lady Wolverines unable to contain their opponents losing 2-14 against Centura-Central Valley, and then losing 1-15 against Centennial. W.C will be on the road Saturday September 9th at the Falls City invite. The Fairbury Lady Jeffs can’t catch up to Auburn losing on Tuesday September 5th with a final score of 5-17. Notable performances from Fairbury came by the way of Regan Kapke leading the team’s offense going a perfect two for two with one double, one stolen base and three RBI. Lexi Mau, Malayne DeBoer, and MaiLee Garner each contributed one hit. DeBoer also contributed one steal and Garner’s one hit on the day was a double that brought in her one RBI as well. Sam Schmidt led things off on the mound surrendering seven hits and 12 runs (three earned) over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking one. Fairbury will be on the road as they head to the Ashland invite on Saturday September 9th.
