Lady Jeffs Win At Thayer Central

The Fairbury Lady Jeffs track team took top prize again as they scored 119.5 points on the way to claiming first at the Thayer Central Invite on March 30.Another strong day of performances but the best were made possible by the 4x800 meter relay taking another first place as they PR with the time of 10:58.43 with the team Sam Starr, Micah Friesen, Madison Ohlde, and Lauren Wanamker. Sam Starr and Micah Friesen would later help the 4x400 meter relay take first as well as they ran the time of 4:29.28.Sam Starr wasn’t done there as she would take gold in to more events as she would get first running a time of 1:04.88 in the 400 meter dash and then took first in the 800 meter run with the time of 2:33.99.Joining in the fun of taking first was Emily Huss who ran away with first in the 300 meter hurdles with her time of :52.50.The Fairbury Jeffs track team placed in the top five with fifth as they scored 56 points. Top efforts for the Jeffs came by Dalton VanLaningham taking first in pole vault reaching the height of 10’ and Devon Carel taking another gold in the 400 meter dash as he ran the time of :52.54 and Drew Watson placed in the top three of the 3200 meter run with third.Fairbury will be on a brief break and returning to competition on Thursday, April 13.
